PAYROLL ASSOCIATE/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: PAYROLL ASSOCIATE/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: CONTROLLER
Bauer Foundation Corp (BFC) is actively seeking a Payroll Associate/Administrative Assistant, responsible for the day to day administration of payroll processes which includes weekly processing of non-union payroll. Under the direction of the Controller the Payroll Associate/Administrative Assistant will be responsible for ensuring payroll transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Work is of a highly confidential nature requiring a broad understanding of company policies and procedures. This person will be processing multi-state payroll for 50+ employees utilizing Paycom payroll online.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting
Three to five years’ experience in a payroll position performing all payroll functions
Construction industry experience a plus
Excellent skills using MS Excel, Paycom and/or SQL knowledge helpful
PERFORMANCE SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure while prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting all deadlines
Attention to Detail: Able to follow detailed procedures; ensures accuracy in documentation and data; and maintains a system of records
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure weekly payroll is processed timely and accurately
Review payroll information and provide corrective training and support to operations
Prepare, review and distribute payroll reports
Process manual check entries and special payroll requests routinely
Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed
Answers employee questions and troubleshoots issues pertaining to payroll.
Work with Paycom in setting up/maintaining garnishment records, remitting payments to agencies, and handling inquiries from employees
Facilitate the migration from Excel based timecards to online time cards
Assist with year-end processing and audit requests
Complete and submit Certified Payroll
Book travel as needed for office and onsite staff as needed
Greets and directs visitors
Places office supply orders
Work closely with Finance department to assist with any accounting operations.
Perform any other administrative duties as needed
